Teacher Training is being held this year at the Southcentral Alaska Institute.

Some additional reminders concerning teacher training

Taking courses in sequence:
1) Every Child Can (ECC) is required for taking Book 1.
2) For Books 1 and Book 2, Institutes are required to check that the Trainee has completed the prerequisite courses.

Auditions
1) It is strongly recommended that Audition videos/DVDs be sent 8 weeks prior to the first day of the course to be taken.
2) ECC, Book 1 and Book 2 must be completed in that order. A successful audition at the appropriate level is required in order for Trainee to register the course.

Membership
SAA Active Membership is required before beginning a course (except ECC).

Tape Pending
1) All copies of registration forms for Trainees with 'tape pending' status are to be submitted to the SAA Office after your Institute.
2) Trainees MUST send their late auditions within 8 weeks from the last day of the Institute course.

Teacher Scholarships

Scholarships are available from the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) and from SASA.  SAA scholarships are quite generous but require a long lead time to apply.  SASA scholarships, as they are local, are easier to apply for with shorter time lines, but are less generous due to our more limited resources.
